Nidan (2nd Dan)

  • Started training at the age of 9 in Johnannesburg South Africa and then with the JKS New Zealand
  • She trained her early years under Shihan Malcolm Dorfman (South Africa) with the original Japan Karate Association (JKA)
  • Gained her Shodan (JKA) in 2007 under instruction and examination by Shihan Asai in New Zealand
  • Successfully Gained her Nidan in 2010

New Zealand Competition ~ Competed successfully for several years in sanctioned Karate New Zealand tournaments and recieved numerous placements. 

JKS World Champs ~ Attended as competitor (Kata and Kumite) at the JKS World Championships in Okinawa 2007 and achieved top 8 placement in

  • Team Kata
  • Individual Kata

Gemma is a excellent example of a high level Karate-ka is very well respected within the Karate fraternity. we are lucky to have her as a JKS instructor and mentor for many students.
